Dachstein Salzkammergut - authentic traditions

Once a year, when the last leaves have already fallen and the first snow adorns the meadows and forests of the Inner Salzkammergut, a special atmosphere finds its way into people's parlours. The Advent season traditionally begins with the Gosau Mountain Christmas, where the whole area around the local history museum is immersed in a festive atmosphere in the midst of the mountain and forest landscape on the first and second weekends of Advent. Hallstatt, the romantic World Heritage town on Lake Hallstatt, invites you to its traditional Christmas market on 8 December. The large illuminated Christmas tree and the three-dimensional nativity scene lend the famous market square a contemplative flair.
