Benedictine women - women who love life
We are women who are looking for a worthwhile life and have discovered that the fullness of life can be found in God. In our paramentics we create textiles for worship service.
The origin of the community goes back to Father Norbert Schachinger, a Benedictine monk from Kremsmünster Abbey. The order was founded in 1949 from a community of oblates and currently has 60 sisters living in Austria and Brazil. Our activities are diverse. The focus is on pastoral and social charitable work.
Our sisters currently work
The parament workshop, where a wide variety of liturgical vestments are produced, is known far beyond the borders of the country. With the work of our hands, we have been making a significant contribution to the dignified celebration of the liturgy for 50 years. The creative design of the vestments and textiles and the quality of the workmanship are of great importance to us and a daily challenge. In co-operation with our customers, we create unique and unmistakable items. The designs of artists are also given concrete form in our workshop.
